Suchinta Abhayaratna practices and teaches Creative Holistic Integration (CHI) – a comprehensive, educational and experiential energy-based process that facilitates and supports holistic self-care through individual sessions and group workshops.  She works with all ages – including children, teens and multi-generational family groups.  She has extensive experience with women’s issues. She has studied and practiced energy healing since 1995, and has taught since 1997.

CHI is based on ancient practices of healing and transformation from various traditions that have been adapted to respond to challenges of modern living. The CHI process emphasizes wholeness rather than fragmentation, wellness rather than illness, and is based on using the energy / power of the whole to heal, transform and integrate the parts.  It includes a variety of energy-based modalities such as Reiki (all levels) Karuna Reiki (all levels), Self-Harmonization, Inner Counselor, Mandala Healing, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) in the CHI process. Suchinta is interested in working collaboratively with other practitioners (naturopathic and allopathic) open to the holistic process, for the highest good of their clients.

She has a Masters Degree (Th.M) from Holos University Graduate Seminary – a graduate school specializing in the scientific exploration of health and spirituality.  She has a certificate in Transpersonal Psychology and is a certified facilitator of Mandala Healing.  She is also a Reiki and Karuna Reiki Master, and an ordained minister of the All Faiths Church of Health and Spirituality.

She is in the final stages of completing a Doctorate (All But Dissertation) in Theology (Holistic) at Holos University, with an emphasis on Transpersonal Psychology and Energy Medicine.  Her research explored the effects of conscious connection to personal / universal energy on Heart Coherence  – an indicator of stress in the body.  She recently completed her doctoral project with 60 tsunami-affected Sri Lankan youth (ages 12 – 24) that showed significant increases in HRV / Coherence in the intervention group compared to the control group.

Suchinta was born and raised in Sri Lanka, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1971.  As the spouse of an ex-U.S. Foreign Service Officer, she has lived and worked in the Philippines, Jordan, Egypt, Israel / Palestine, and has traveled widely. She is currently based in Vienna, VA and works locally in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and globally, wherever she is called to serve. She is the mother of two young adults.
