The Fly By Light Performance Troupe is a select group of 12 – 15 students from the overall Fly By Light youth program. The purpose of the troupe is to cultivate performance ambassadors that spread the word and mission of Fly By Light through performances and showcases throughout the DMV area.
Social Justice, Race Relations, Sexuality, and Domestic Violence are only a few of the topics covered by the Fly By Light Performance Troupe – and these issues come to light through none other than the students.
The students use drama, music, dance, poetry, and song to tell of pressing concerns in their community and they work to create a safe space where these issues can be talked about and the community can be changed.
The Performance Troupe meets the first and third Saturday of each month at The George Washington University in Phillips Hall Room B-120 from 10am to 2pm.
