Fly By Light: A Journey of Generations Service Retreat is an arts empowerment, emotional literacy and youth mentorship retreat to Catoctin Mountain National Park from August 12 – August 18, 2016.
CALLING ALL ADULT MENTORS!
We need energetic + enthusiastic adults who can help us set a positive example for our program’s youth and provide support for them during & after a week-long nature retreat!
Your role as an adult mentor has many integral facets, including:
- Encourage youth through a collaboration of art, service projects, and dynamic outdoor immersion
- Help youth understand they are valued, both at the retreat and in their daily lives
- Challenge, inspire, and motivate youth to help them develop their character and capabilities
- Attend a day-long pre-retreat training on youth development + cultural sensitivity
As an adult mentor, you will be expected to be present for the entire 6 nights of the retreat, as well as receive light training on positive youth development, before and during the retreat.
You’ll get to participate in dynamic workshop sessions (adult, youth, and intergenerational), outdoor education, hiking, bonfires, yoga, and so much more!
If you have any questions regarding the retreat, email Liz ([email protected]).
*Please note, there will be a fee assessed for your participation, to help us cover the costs for this event.*
Can’t make it but still want to lend a hand?
Donate to help alleviate costs for our youth!
The total cost to cover a youth for the entire retreat (5 days & 5 nights accommodations, trainings/classes, 3 meals a day, transportation) is $455.50; that averages out to $91.10 per day.
